What Measure X funds
Each school has different needs. Projects were chosen based on urgency and impact: student safety, high-quality instruction, and critical infrastructure.
Why it's needed
Aging pipes, electrical and infrastructure are failing, leading to gas leaks, water leaks and sewage backups. In the past two years alone there were more than 150 roof leaks. District-wide, Measure X will:
Accountability
The district's last bond did what it promised: 12 new classrooms at Heritage, 16 new classrooms and renovated athletic facilities at Liberty, and a new auxiliary gym and theater at Freedom, all completed on time and on budget.
If voters approve Measure X, our schools also qualify for more than $35 million in state matching funds that would otherwise go to other districts.

Measure X is a critically needed school bond that will fund upgrades and modernization projects at our local high schools, helping ensure safe, high-quality learning environments for current and future students. Measure X is a local bond measure on the November 3, 2026 ballot to repair, renovate and upgrade Liberty Union high schools, including Liberty, Freedom, Heritage, Independence and La Paloma.
For the average homeowner, less than $10 a month. The district estimates a tax rate of $20 per $100,000 of assessed value while the bonds are outstanding.
Delaying facility improvements only increases future costs. Without bond funding, the district will not be able to renovate schools or receive the available state matching funds.
Good schools improve quality of life in our community and protect home values. The quality of local schools is one of the most important factors for families choosing where to buy a home.
All money raised stays in our community and cannot be taken by the State or used for other purposes. None of it can be spent on administrator salaries. A Citizens' Oversight Committee and independent audits ensure it is spent as promised.

Every registered California voter receives a ballot in the mail. Return it by mail, postmarked by Election Day, or at any drop box.
